Epilogue 1 - Three Years Later

“Babe, I love you - but I’ve got to concentrate - my finals are tomorrow! I am so behind from working on my business.” He was still ridiculously affectionate and in love with me. And I felt even stronger feelings for him than I could have imagined. I couldn’t wait to start a family with him. But I had promised him I would finish my degree before I got pregnant.

“Okay, I’ll let you study. But after your finals - you’re all mine. I’m taking you to that resort in Punta Cana and knocking you up, babe. Hard,” as he hugged me on the bed and kissed me. “You know twins run in my family.” As it turned out, he had a non-identical twin brother, Nick, who was a total sweetheart. I was shipping him and Ash, but those two just weren’t ready for a long-term relationship. At least not yet.

I laughed and shook my head. “Mmm hmm - we’ll see about that, Mr. Virility!”

“Just think, we can take them with us to Namibia, to the Amazon. Oh, the Galapagos as a family on our own boat. I seriously cannot wait, baby. The more the merrier.”

“Hey, you aren’t the one popping them out! Have some pity for my vagina, sir!”

He laughed. “With those child-bearing hips? I know you’ll be addicted to babies after the first set of twins. We’re going to need, like, five nannies to help you with these babies. We’ll have to buy the floor below us!”

“You are so crazy, Luke.”

“Oh, and I can see it now - they’re all grandmothers from tiny European countries and they’ll make us amazing food, too.”

“Now you’re talking! Yum. Can our imaginary nannies make pierogi? And osso bucco? And cassoulet?

“Of course! Those will be required skills. Of course, our chef can make all those - but they’re even better when made by grandmothers, aren’t they?”

I couldn’t wait to finish my degree and get started with the next phase of our life together.
